About the Presentation
Fiscal Choices examines Canada’s fiscal response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges of stabilizing the economy, controlling inflation, and fostering growth. The book covers key topics such as government capacity, inequality, sovereign debt, and the state of federalism and parliamentary government. Drawing on interviews with over seventy politicians, public servants, and experts, it offers a candid assessment of Canada’s political economy and the limits of traditional policy instruments. The book concludes with predictions and prescriptions for a sustainable, accountable future within Canada’s political system. Join authors Michael M. Atkinson and Haizhen Mou for a discussion about the book and these crucial economic issues. The presentation will be followed by a reception for those joining in person.
