Book Talk - Dark Chapters - Reading the Still Lives of David Garneau and Official Unveiling of 2 Garneau Paintings

Join us for a book talk with Governor General’s Award-winning Métis artist David Garneau, whose book Dark Chapters: Reading The Still Lives of David Garneau brings together responses from some of Canada’s foremost thinkers and artists to Garneau's still life paintings.

David Garneau will be appearing at the University of Regina’s Dr. John Archer Library & Archives (Regina and Wascana Rooms) on Tuesday March 25th at 12pm. He will be in conversation with MacKenzie Gallery curator John Hampton and artist, curator, and recent U of R alumni Brianna LaPlante. Just as the paintings in the book are a spark for reflections on art and decolonization, this conversation will highlight how Indigenous artists and curators have conversations about legacy and contemporary indigenous experiences and sensibilities through and in art.

The event is free and open to the public. Treats will be served and books will be sold by the University of Regina Press. David Garneau will be pleased to sign your copy! Don't miss out on what promises to be a lively discussion!

Immediately afterwards will be an official unveiling of two new paintings by David Garneau.
