FGSR Parental Leave Bursary

This award is designed to support graduate students who have taken an approved parental leave (includes adoption). The goal of the bursary is to help students maintain a level of funding during their parental leave (to a max of 8 months). This bursary is provided on a first come first serve basis and there is a limit of 3 awards per fiscal year.

Eligibility

  • Students must be on an approved paternity Leave of Absence (LOA).
  • Students must have pre-existing, stable graduate funding at a minimum of $7500 per year.
  • Students can not hold Tri-Council Funding (Tri-Council provides its own paternity leave).
  • Students must have completed at least one semester of their graduate studies and be registered full time in the semester before their approved leave.
  • Students must be in good-standing

Application Information

Students who have received an approved paternity LOA can send a request for this bursary to grad.funding@uregina.ca.  To be considered for this bursary student requests should include: Name, Student ID#, expected leave start date, and proof of current funding in the form of letters of funding provided by FGSR or their host Faculty.

Other Details

FGSR will review all requests and notify students of the results. Those awarded funding will receive it after the add/drop date of the semesters they are eligible.

EMPLOYMENT: A student can not be employed while holding this bursary.
