Research Week 2025

Research Week 2025 takes place from October 27-31, 2025 with the UR Taste of Research happening November 5th.

We celebrate the vibrant graduate students and research community on campus. The week featured a range of events, including panel discussions and student research showcases, offering opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, and industry partners to connect and collaborate.

Organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and the VPR Office, with support from the Faculty of Education, JSGS, UR Press, INSPIRE GSA, MAP GSA, Luther College and the President's Art Collection,  Research Week 2025 highlights the innovative work being done across disciplines.  Visit our Events page for all the details on these events.

Monday, Oct 27

• How to Become a PostDoc Luncheon — 12:00–1:15 pm, hosted by FGSR.  Registration required. Register here.
• How One Class Changed Everything...From Student to Scholar: The Power of Mentorship - 2:30-3:30 pm, LC215, hosted by Luther College.
• Indigenous Research: Find Your Rhythm, Dance Your Style — 5:00–9:00 pm, hosted by Faculty of Education.

Tuesday, Oct 28

• A New Blueprint for Government by Kevin Lynch & James Mitchell  — 4:30 pm, CB 308, College Ave Campus, hosted by JSGS & UR Press (book launch).  Register to attend in person or online.

Wednesday, Oct 29

• Interdisciplinary Panel Discussion — 10:00–11:00 am, RIC 208, hosted by INSPIRE Student Group
• Student Research Showcase  — 1:00–5:00 pm, RIC Atrium & RIC 208 hosted by FGSR. 
  • 1:00 - 1:30 pm - Keynote: Digging into strategy: How we told a DINO-mite story with Jerit Mitchell, PhD Candidate & Krista Baliko, University Marketing and Communications,  RIC Atrium
  • 1:30 - 3:00 pm - Posters by undergrad and grad students.  Students will be available for questions, RIC Atrium.
  • 1:30 - 3:45 pm - Lightning Talks by grad students, RIC 208.  
  • 4:30 - 5:00 pm - Awards Presentations, RIC Atrium.
