Online Safety Courses
The Health and Safety Orientation Course is a self-enrolled course and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. This course provides students, faculty, and staff with general health and safety information relevant to the University of Regina.
The Risk Assessment/Theory Course is a self-enrolled course and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. This course provides students, faculty, and staff with the concepts and processes of risk assessment in order to assist with planning their work or learning activities in the safest manner possible.

CHEMICAL & LAB SAFETY (CLS) – Includes WHMIS:
Participants registered for the Chemical & Lab Safety course must complete the online course as well as successfully complete an in-person mandatory CLS workshop (WHMIS exam included). NOTE: The online course must be successfully completed BEFORE registering for a mandatory CLS workshop.
CLS mandatory workshops have a maximum of 10 (ten) participants. The Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, and Faculty of Kinesiology & Health Studies encourage participants to successfully complete the CLS online course and mandatory in-person workshop as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in being denied access to teaching and research space(s) that require the completion of the CLS course.

BIOSAFETY AWARENESS:
Participants registered for the Biosafety Awareness and Chemical & Lab Safety (CLS) courses must complete the online courses for both Biosafety Awareness and CLS as well as successfully complete an in-person mandatory Biosafety Awareness workshop (exam and autoclave quiz included) and CLS workshop (WHMIS exam included).After successfully completing a mandatory CLS workshop, participants who are required to attend a Biosafety Awareness workshop will be sent an email to their official UofR email address indicating they are now eligible to register for a mandatory Biosafety Awareness workshop.
Biosafety Awareness workshops have a maximum of 8 (eight) participants. The Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, and Faculty of Kinesiology & Health Studies encourage participants to successfully complete the online courses and mandatory workshops for Chemical & Lab Safety and Biosafety Awareness as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in being denied access to teaching and research space(s) that require the completion of Chemical & Lab Safety and Biosafety Awareness courses.

Health and Safety will ONLY send safety course information and respond to official UofR email addresses!
Reminder
Health and Safety ONLY sends confirmation of online safety course registration during regular office hours.
We do not monitor emails on weekends (Saturdays/Sundays), evenings (after 4:30 pm), and statutory holidays.
To register for a Chemical & Lab Safety (CLS) mandatory workshop, participants must have successfully completed the online portion (UR Courses) for CLS.
NOTE: Mandatory workshop email requests must be submitted to health.safety@uregina.ca *24 hours prior to the Chemical & Lab Safety workshop date. *Note: This does not include weekends/statutory holidays.

Health & Safety will be pleased to offer additional workshop dates based on participant enrollment.
**Workshops cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control and/or low enrollment will be rescheduled based on participant demand (when required).
To register for a Biosafety Awareness mandatory workshop, participants must have successfully completed BOTH online courses for Chemical & Lab Safety (CLS) and Biosafety Awareness) AND have successfully completed a CLS mandatory workshop.
AFTER completing a CLS workshop, Health and Safety will send an emal to your official UofR email address advising that you are now eligible to register for a Biosafety Awareness workshop.
