Room Selection Process

Selecting your own room is easy!


Make sure you are eligible for room selection.

To be eligible, you must:

Be a first-year student applying to University of Regina Housing (Luther Residence is not eligible for online room selection)

You must have completed an application for Fall & Winter 2022-23 housing by May 31st, 2022.

Why am I asked for room preferences in my application when I am going to select my own room placement?

There are a couple of reasons you must list room preferences;

1. If you miss your timeslot or would prefer that the Housing Office assigns you a room, we need to know what types of rooms you would prefer!

2. In some instances, Housing Services may be required to consolodate room space. Housing Services reserves the right to move residents to an alternative room space, for strategic occupancy needs.

Watch your email.

Once we have received your completed application and process it, we will email your timeslot to the email address that you provided on your application (please list one you check often and add us to your safe sender list)

Timeslots will be generated randomly and a confirmation email sent out by the end of day June 9th. If you have not received your timeslot confirmation email by June 10th, please email us.

Log in and select your room.

The week of June 13th, room selection will open on the Housing Portal.

You will have received an email notification giving you the details about your specific timeslot/log in details and what time/date you can log in to the Portal to select your room. When the time comes, log in and select! It's that simple!

A word on roommates...

Those who wish to live with a specific roommate need to select the same apartment in the application process. Roommates must be mutually confirmed during the application process, prior to room selection opening, in order to be coordinated.
Confirmed roommates who have requested and accepted each other in the application process, will be given the same timeslots so that you may select a room together.

What happens if I miss my timeslot?

If you will be away from student housing or otherwise unable to log in during your assigned timeslot, your timeslot will remain open until midnight, June 23rd, 2022. If you are unable to log in to choose your own room by that date, or wish to have a room assigned to you, please contact us by email at housing.services@uregina.ca and our team will assign a room on your behalf (please mention any confirmed roommate requests in your email)
