Fieldwork and Internships

Professional Experiences in KHS

Practicums, Fieldwork, and Internships are professional experiences that are core to all of our degree programs.

All professional experiences in the Faculty are partnerships between the experiential learning coordinator, the student, and a community agency/organization that hosts the placement.

Professional experiences:

  • Facilitate personal growth in a ‘real world’ work environment
  • Are a critical step in preparing for a career
  • Provide the opportunity to apply what has been learned through course work
  • Help improve professional competencies and skills
  • Deepen one’s understanding of what to expect in professional life
  • Allow refinement of career aspirations
  • All our hands-on professional experiences require students to prepare learning objectives for the experience and involve midterm and final evaluations of performance.
