Experiential Learning in our KHS faculty is all about providing opportunities for students to apply KHS theories to practical experiences guided by professional partners in the community. We are very thankful for the relationships we have with many partner agencies who host students as volunteers, for course-based projects, paid internships or fieldwork.
Each student is required to complete fieldwork (15-week, 560-hour, unpaid internship) or a Paid Internship as a final part of the degree program and it is my responsibility to prepare students for the process and facilitate placements in collaboration with partner supervisors. Experiential Learning allows students to make mistakes, reflect, find small success, build confidence and feel more prepared to step into their future career in Kinesiology and Health Studies.
