About Brandon
Brandon Watson is a Creative Technologist in Regina, Saskatchewan who is interested in exploring how intersecting the areas of maker culture, people-centered design and community-based research can lead to exciting new open-sourced, technology-based projects focused on bridging the gaps left by commercially available technology to help empower communities. A graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, concentration in Creative Technologies from the University of Regina, Brandon is currently completing his Master of Fine Arts degree with a future goal of becoming a professor in the exciting field of Creative Technologies.
Beyond academia, he has a passion for the sport of Lawn Bowling and has served multiple terms on Team Canada where he has had the privilege of representing Saskatchewan and Canada at many National and International events. Community is important to Brandon and he has sat on multiple community boards such as the South Zone Recreation Board and the Regina Lawn Bowling Club Board with the goals of expanding programs and giving back to different communities.
He enjoys working in the fields of woodworking, lighting design, electronics and leathercraft and thus, his projects often include a combination of woodworking, leather working, 3D printing, and various tech components including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LED lighting, sensors and displays.
