More than 900 students receive degrees, diplomas, and certificates at the University of Regina’s Fall 2022 Convocation

Release Date: October 21, 2022 3:30 PM

Today’s Convocation ceremonies saw 923 students receive 957 degrees, diplomas and certificates and join the U of R’s family of more than 85,000 alumni.

“The University community joins family and friends in recognizing and applauding the achievements of students receiving their credentials at this Fall’s Convocation,” said University President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jeff Keshen. “These graduates have worked diligently to reach this momentous occasion and have proven their innovative and resilient spirit by doing so in the midst of a pandemic, which included an unprecedented disruption to in-person instruction during the past two years.”

“To the Fall 2022 graduating students I send my well-wishes and hopes for your continued success,” said University of Regina Chancellor Pam Klein. “I know the time you have spent at the University of Regina, the knowledge and experiences you have gained, and the lifelong friendships you have made, will be invaluable in all your future endeavours.”

The University is also recognizing Rachel Mielke with a Doctor of Laws honoris causa (LLD) in recognition of her exceptional service to the community. Mielke, a U of R alum and successful entrepreneur who founded the jewellery company, Hillberg & Berk, has recently overcome a cancer diagnosis. Mielke is also a well-known advocate and mentor for women and women’s issues.
