U of R celebrates its 50th Fall convocation
The University of Regina is inviting members of the media to join in recognizing the accomplishments of our 988 students who are graduating during the Fall 2024 Convocation.
Special recognition will be given to outstanding academic award recipients and honorary degrees will be awarded to brothers Chris Getzlaf and Ryan Getzlaf during convocation.
The convocation ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on October 17, 2024, in the main Gymnasium in the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport, U of R main campus.
A live stream of the ceremony will be available on the University’s Facebook page. As well, a recording of the event will be posted to the site so students, family, and friends unable to attend in person, can view the celebration online.
There will be a media availability prior to convocation at 1:15 p.m. for U of R President and Vice-Chancellor Jeff Keshen as well as for the honorary degree recipients. Interviews can be arranged though the contact noted above.

About the University of Regina
2024 marks our 50th anniversary as an independent university (although our roots as Regina College date back more than a century!). As we celebrate our past, we work towards a future that is as limitless as the prairie horizon. We support the health and well-being of our more than 17,200 students and provide them with hands-on learning opportunities to develop into career-ready graduates – more than 92,000 alumni enrich communities in Saskatchewan and around the globe. Our research enterprise has grown to 21 research centres and includes 9 Canada Research Chairs. Our campuses are on Treaties 4 and 6 - the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda peoples, and the homeland of the Michif/Métis nation. We seek to grow our relationships with Indigenous communities to build a more inclusive future.
Let's go far, together.
