The Really BIG Deal

Students sitting at table in residence.

A housing and tuition savings offer for all domestic and international students.

The University of Regina understands the financial pressures that students face and we are pleased to announce the creation of a new housing and tuition savings offer for international and domestic students who choose to live on campus while studying at the U of R.

The University of Regina’s Really BIG Deal – a housing and tuition savings offer – is now offered to all domestic and international students.

Savings bundles include locked-in tuition and fees, locked-in and discounted housing rates, as well as a variety of other financial benefits for as long as the student is eligible to live in U of R housing and accepts the Really BIG Deal opt-in requirements.

Living on campus fosters a sense of security, community, and belonging for students. It allows for close proximity to classes and access to on-campus supports like the Student Wellness Centre and Recreation Services.  It is also a great way for students transitioning from living with their families to feeling comfortable living on their own.

International Student Savings Bundle: Depending on which U of R housing option chosen, international students could save up to $21,000 in tuition and fees over a four-year period based on the higher tuition rates they pay.

Domestic Student Savings Bundle: Domestic students could save over $18,000 in tuition and fees over a four-year period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any opt-in requirements for the Really BIG Deal?

To opt into the Really BIG Deal, students need to be eligible to live in campus housing while studying at the U of R, as well as purchase an annual meal card valued at $1,000 (that can used for snacks, drinks, and lighter meals-on-the-go while on campus) as well as purchase an annual U of R Campus Store credit valued at $500.

Once you fill out the housing application, and the Really BIG deal opt in form, a representative from Housing Services will assist you with ensuring you meet all of the application eligibility to take advantage of this savings offer.

Is a $1,000 meal card enough to cover my annual dining needs at the U of R?

A meal card valued at $1,000 is best used for snacks, drinks, and lighter meals-on-the-go while students are on campus and we encourage you to supplement this “snack card” with an additional Dining Plan to ensure you cover off your full-meal needs (pending how often you want to eat on campus).

Dining locations for 2022 include the following on campus locations

  • Tim Hortons
  • Common Ground (proudly featuring Starbucks)
  • Grill & Co.
  • Chef's Table (daily specials)
  • Create (build your own burrito, stir fry, and pasta – on rotation)
  • Al Forno (pizza by the slice)
  • Subway
  • Pop Up (halal options – with a rotating weekly theme)

Note: Offerings may change as we perfect the menu over the term.
