Cluster 1 focuses on improving the health and well-being of people of all ages by advancing research and developing innovative healthcare solutions by preventing, diagnosing, monitoring, treating, and curing illnesses. Among the aims of this cluster are promoting healthy living, creating stronger and more sustainable healthcare systems, and empowering patients in advocating for and managing their care. Key areas of intervention include health throughout the lifespan, social and environmental determinants of health, rare and chronic diseases (both infectious and non-communicable), digital health solutions, and health systems.

Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)
The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is hosting a webinar and seeking Canadian partners for health project calls, recently released in the 2025 Horizon Europe Work Programme for Cluster 1. The webinar is scheduled for June 4th and you can register using the following link: Webinar Registration - Zoom.
This webinar will include participation from Canada’s Cluster 1 National Contact Points and CSIC’s Cluster 1 Horizon Europe Leads. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about the funding opportunities within the Horizon Europe framework, Canadian NCPs and their role, timelines for 2025 and 2026 calls and strategies in preparing your pitches for collaborating with CSIC on these Cluster 1 Health project submissions.

Spain’s National Research Council, CSIC, Horizon Europe’s SECOND most active participant seeks CANADIAN partners for the following seven health project calls which close on September 18, 2025.
Canadians are encouraged to email programas.europeos@csic.es to share one’s pitch for the call(s) of interest by June 11, 2025. Please consult the four-page Horizon Europe Support Document (XLSX) and reach out to Canada’s National Contact Points (NCP) in copy for help in your efforts.
