Current Reviews

President & Vice-Chancellor

President Jeff Keshen’s current term as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Regina is scheduled to conclude June 30, 2026. Dr. Keshen has indicated his interest in reappointment to serve a second five-year term.

Past practice for the presidential reappointment processes is that the Board Chair is the Supervisory Authority, and the Governance and Nominations Committee is the Reappointment Committee, guiding the process as it unfolds and providing regular updates to the Board.  The Board is the final decision-making authority referenced as the “Appointing Authority” under the Out-of-Scope Senior Appointments policy.

Dr. Keshen and the Board Chair have agreed to consider a second term based on a successful renewal consultation.  Following the March Board meeting, a consultant (KBRS) was engaged to assist the Reappointment Committee with the process.

Timeline for the Reappointment Review

The review will proceed according to these key milestones:

  • May 20: Launch of a secure survey and feedback invitation
  • June 6: Close of the feedback period
  • June 9 to 27 : Consolidation of feedback and Board deliberation
  • By June 30: Board decision and announcement of outcome

Consultation Approach

President Keshen has prepared both a summary report of his accomplishments as well as a vision document for the next five years.

To ensure broad opportunity for input, KBRS has opened the process to receive confidential feedback. You may participate in the structured consultation process by completing the online survey by June 6.

All feedback will undergo qualitative analysis by KBRS and presented in aggregate form only, ensuring anonymity and protecting the integrity of the process. The findings will support the Board of Governor’s deliberations as it considers the President’s continued leadership.
