Matt Fahlman, BBA'12 and Kyle Smyth, BASc'13

Join us on May 20, 2025, for a discussion about technology, efficiency, and running a large digital company on the prairies.

What do you get when you pair a Finance alumnus with a BASc in Software Systems Engineering grad and a parking challenge? Offstreet, an exciting homegrown Saskatchewan success story! Offstreet is a streamlined digital parking management software company used by universities, healthcare centres, hotels, and parking management operators.

UR alumni, Matt Fahlman and Kyle Smyth, cofounded the company that now facilitates over one million parking sessions each month and recently received $2.4-million cash in exchange for equity from various venture capital funds.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Business Admin, majoring in Finance, and a Certificate in Economics (2012) from the Faculty of Arts here at the university. Born in Regina, he lives in Regina with his wife and newborn son.

Kyle Smyth is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Offstreet, where he leads the product and engineering teams. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Software Systems Engineering from the University of Regina.
