Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Yolanda Merasty and I am from Pasqua first nation

What are you studying?

I am studying social work at the University of Regina.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years I see myself working to better help children, single mothers and families face and overcoming the issue of poverty and all the problems that it causes.

What makes you successful academically?

My determination is what makes me successful academically, I have also faced many problems and issues at home while trying to work on homework, but it only made me stronger.

What would be your message to those following in your footsteps?

Never give up! It may be a hard and lonely road sometimes, but through it all, we can keep the things that are good inside of us. We still have to make time to help one another out and care for others.
