Masters of Computer Science Co-op

What do I need to get into the Computer Science Masters Co-op?

Students in the MCS programs may apply for admission to do Co-op. Students must have completed and obtained a minimum grade of 80% in each of 4 classes before applying for co-op, and be enrolled in a minimum of 2 classes the semester prior to commencing a work term (excludes GRST 995AA or GRST 995AB). You must also be a full time student in good standing. Graduate students will follow the same work term requirements pertaining to undergraduate students, such as length of terms, suitability of work placements, and codes of conduct.

How many work terms will I do?

Students must successfully complete two work terms; either two separate 4 month work terms or one 8 month work term.

Do I need to write a Work Term Report?

Yes, you are expected to submit a work term report once you have finished your work terms. You will write a formal technical work term report and make a formal presentation to your supervisor.

Am I charged a fee to do Co-op?

Yes you will be charged if you get a placement. Fees will be assessed in the semester that the student is registered in their work term. The Graduate Science Co-op fee is set at two times the rate charged for undergraduate Co-op students, plus full time mandatory student fees according to the fee schedule, as well as the International Surcharge where applicable.
