Cadmus Delorme - B.Admin, MPA, ICD.D
Cadmus Delorme, a Cree and Saulteaux member of Cowessess First Nation, will be installed as the University of Regina’s tenth Chancellor at the University of Regina’s fall convocation. His installation marks a new chapter in Delorme’s long and meaningful relationship with the University that spans more than 15 years.
Delorme first joined the University community as an undergraduate student at First Nations University of Canada, where he earned a Bachelor of Administration and a Certificate in Hospitality, Tourism and Gaming Entertainment Management. He later completed a Master of Public Administration from the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. Over the years, he has also contributed to the University as a student leader, ambassador, and most recently as Chair of the Board of Governors.
A nationally recognized voice for reconciliation and Indigenous governance, Delorme served as Chief of Cowessess First Nation from 2016 to 2023. During his tenure, the Nation advanced renewable energy, agriculture, and land stewardship projects and became the first in Canada to sign an agreement with the federal government to assume jurisdiction over children in care.
Delorme continues to build bridges through his work as a founder of OneHoop Advisory Services, which supports community development, economic growth, and reconciliation initiatives. The Regina-based private investment firm targets private mid-size companies for investment by First Nation and Métis communities. His leadership extends to provincial and national roles, including serving on the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Board of Directors, chairing the Residential Schools Document Advisory Committee, and participating as a 2023 Banff Forum delegate.
A recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and a CBC Saskatchewan Future 40 honouree, Delorme is also a dedicated athlete and former provincial golf champion. Cadmus, his wife Kimberly and their family share their time between Regina and Cowessess First Nation.
Chancellor Delorme’s custom regalia features a black gown with green velvet-accented sleeves and gold trim, reflecting both tradition and distinction. As a meaningful personal addition, he has incorporated a beaded stole and moccasins into his official attire—honouring his educational journey, family values, and ongoing commitment to community service.
