Meet Dr. Phillip Choi.

The Dean provides leadership and vision to the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, liasing with senior management at the University, and working closely with Program Chairs and academic staff to ensure vibrant professional Engineering programs. The current Dean, Dr. Phillip Choi, P. Eng., has degrees in Chemical Engineering. Dr. Choi started as Dean on July 1 2022. His research areas are in the design and development of sustainable materials used for various chemical engineering applications. His favorite subject is thermodynamics, a branch of science that studies energy.

Meet Dr. Paul Laforge.

This role provides strategic leadership in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science on matters pertaining to academic programs at the undergraduate level, undergraduate admission standards, and undergraduate academic misconduct. Associate Dean, Research; Raman Paranjape

Associate Dean (Research & Graduate Studies)

Meet Dr. Raman Paranjape.

The Associate Dean Research and Grad Studies provides strategic leadership in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science on matters pertaining to research in general, academic programs at the graduate level, graduate students, industrial research connections, research policies, and laboratory safety.  Dr Paranjape’s research investigates signal and image processing with applications to 5G communication systems working with SaskTel and ground penetrating radar working with Nutrien Inc. with applications to potash mine safety. Additionally, Dr. Paranjape is researching the development of autonomous wheel chairs in partnership with Wascana Rehab Centre .

Meet Meigen Schmidt.

The Faculty Administrator is responsible for developing, establishing and managing an efficient and effective administrative, technical and applied scientific staff complement that support the teaching, research and service activities of Engineering.

Engineering Advisory Board

The Engineering Advisory Board provides links between the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Regina and the local engineering community, industry, engineering firms, municipalities and governments. The Board’s function is to counsel, provide insight and an outside perspective, support and advocates on matters relating to the Faculty’s vision and strategic plan, programs, curriculum, research, outreach and engagement, and development and fundraising initiatives.
