Saskatchewan Winter Games
The 2023 Saskatchewan Winter Games are coming to the University of Regina in February 2023. The University is a major partner in the 50th edition of the Saskatchewan Winter Games, scheduled to run over Reading Week, from Sunday, February 19 through until Saturday, February 25, 2023.
The Games will see upwards of 1,600 participants from every corner of the province competing in 16 sports at venues in the area. The University will be hosting the athletes on our main campus, with Wakpā Tower transforming into an Athletes’ Village. As well, we are providing venues for: the opening ceremonies, table tennis, wrestling, weight lifting and target shooting competitions.
The University of Regina is proud to be a major partner of the Saskatchewan Winter Games!
If you'd like to get involved, the Games' Host Organizing Committee is eager to hear from you!
The Games require upwards of 1,000 volunteers to lend a hand in bringing the whole province to our backyard. There are many ways to volunteer, both on-campus and off. Volunteer roles are available for all ages, abilities, and accessibilities. These include:- Set-up and tear-down of the Athletes’ Village and sport competitions
- Access control at sport venues
- Photography of Games events and sport competitions
- Assisting guests and athletes at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies
