Art for Lunch with Emmanuel Osahor
Please join the Department of Visual Arts on Friday, February 2nd for a virtual talk with Emmanuel Osahor. Born in Nigeria, Osahor lives and works in Toronto. He is an Assistant Professor in Studio Art across the Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough and Master of Visual Studies Program in the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at University of Toronto’s St. George Campus. He holds an MFA at the University of Guelph (2021) and a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Alberta (2015).
Centred on a recent body of paintings, etchings and ceramics on view at the Art Gallery of Alberta, this talk will discuss the artist's current practice and examine the garden as site of care, and metaphor for beauty as a necessity for survival, and a precursor to thriving.
