Living Skies Student Film Festival
37th Edition Living Skies Student Film Festival
The Living Skies Student Film Festival, one of Canada's longest-running student film festivals, announces its 37th edition. It will be held from March 26-28, 2026, at La Cité on the University of Regina campus. Originally established in 1988 as "The University of Regina Student Film Festival," the event was renamed in 2012 to honour Saskatchewan's stunning living skies.
The festival will showcase curated screenings of student films from local Saskatchewan filmmakers as well as emerging voices worldwide.
The event will feature an opening festival mixer and a special presentation by director Gavin Baird and producer Jacob Farrell on March 26th at La Cité. Their film, KLEE, was named among the Toronto International Film Festival's Canada's Top Ten short films of 2025 and was featured at numerous international film festivals. There will also be workshops with the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative and ScreenSask, as well as with cinematographer Matthew Ripplinger, who will host an analog film workshop.
All screenings and workshops are free to the public.
