Art for Lunch: Art of Kyoto with Rob Truszkowski

Please join the Department of Visual Arts and Professor Rob Truskowski for a whirlwind tour of his bi-annual international study abroad course, Art of Kyoto ART 290JP.  

For hundreds of years, Kyoto has been the centre of traditional arts and crafts production in Japan. On Professor Truszkowski’s bi-annual study tour, ART290JP, participants visit sites of artistic and cultural importance, and meet local artists and educators as a means to better understand the local and global importance of this dynamic city. Join us for a slide lecture all about the most recent trip in 2025; how we did it, what we did, what we ate (!), and why travel and cultural immersion remain such an important way to understand ourselves, and the world around us. 

Robert Truszkowski (BFA Queen’s, MFA Concordia) is a Professor and Head of the Department of Visual Arts.

Additional Information: Art for Lunch is a free speaker series and core curriculum presented by the Department of Visual Arts and the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance. Speakers are local, national, and international artists, arts administrators, and curators.
