Art for Lunch: David Garneau

Please join the Department of Visual Arts this Friday for Art for Lunch. We are thrilled to welcome Professor David Garneau, in Partnership with Dunlop Art Gallery, where David’s exhibition Dark Chapters is up this fall. 

David Garneau (Métis Nation of Saskatchewan) is a Professor of Visual Arts at the University of Regina. He is a painter, curator, and writer who engages creative and critical expressions of Indigenous contemporary ways of knowing, being, and doing. He received the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Art: Outstanding Achievement, was inducted into the Royal Society of Canada (both 2023), and received The Order of Gabriel Dumont Silver Medal and King Charles III Coronation Medal (both 2025).  

Dark Chapters opens at Dunlop Art Gallery on Saturday, September 26th, 11am with a talk between Garneau and curator Arin Faye.

Additional Information: Art for Lunch is a free speaker series and core curriculum presented by the Department of Visual Arts and the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance. Speakers are local, national, and international artists, arts administrators, and curators.
