Alumni in the Classroom back for 2026!

Have you ever considered sharing your passion for your career with an engaged group of students? We encourage you to sign up for our Alumni in the Classroom Speaker Series.

Alumni in the Classroom is an engaging volunteer initiative that brings accomplished alumni back to campus, in-person or remotely, to share their experiences and insights with current students. These speakers, who have excelled in various fields, provide valuable perspectives on career paths, industry trends, and personal growth. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with successful professionals and gain inspiration for their own journeys.

The speaker series will run from February 9th to 13th, 2026.

Alumni Awards & Sports Hall of Fame

Every year, the University of Regina celebrates the achievements of its nearly 95,000 alumni through the Alumni Awards. Established in 1992, these awards honour our exceptional alumni for their dedication to excellence, community engagement, leadership, and their significant impact on the social, cultural, and economic well-being of our communities.

In 1995, the University of Regina Sports Hall of Fame was established to recognize outstanding athletes, teams, builders, and contributors to the Athletics Program.

Starting in 2025, we are excited to announce the merging of these two prestigious events into one: the Alumni Awards & Sports Hall of Fame. This unified event will truly honour our outstanding recipients.

Working it — Three Majors and a Learning Disability: Mike Abramson BSc'02

Mike Abramson BSc'02, owner of Mikey's Awards and Promotions Inc., took a rocky road toward his U of R Bachelor’s degree, switching majors three times and managing a learning disability, which, during the 1990s, was mostly a foreign concept. He’s a patient man who keeps getting up when he’s knocked down: for those of you who remember the UROC concept, Mike was one of the U of R radio heads who attempted to create the student-run radio station on campus that unfortunately never got off the ground. With supportive university professors, Mike, who has difficulty with language, was able to graduate with a Computer Science degree and went on to buy an existing Regina business that he easily turned into his own: Mikey’s Awards and Promotions. Mikey’s serves Regina with care and excitement to turn your vision into reality.
