Outstanding Service Award Nomination (Dr. Robert & Norma Ferguson Award for Outstanding Service)

Award Criteria

The Outstanding Service Award (Dr. Robert and Norma Ferguson Award) recognizes outstanding volunteer leadership and service to the University of Regina and/or the University of Regina Alumni Association.

To be nominated for the Outstanding Service Award (Dr. Robert & Norma Ferguson Award), the alumnus/alumna must:

  • graduate from the University of Regina in a recognized degree, diploma or certificate program
  • show exceptional volunteer leadership and service to the University of Regina and/or the University of Regina Alumni Association
  • participate in activities that have enhanced the overall strength of the University of Regina and/or the University of Regina Alumni Association
  • demonstrate long-term loyalty and dedication to the University of Regina and/or the University of Regina Alumni Association
  • clearly represent the University’s motto, “As one who serves”.

1) Please complete an online nomination including:

a) Nominee’s name and contact info
b) Nominator’s name and contact info
c) A biographical summary that addresses these questions about the nominee:


  • How does the candidate fulfill the award criteria? (250 words max.)
  • In what ways have they achieved distinction in their field of endeavor? (250 words max.)
  • What impact have they made on the University of Regina? (250 words max.)
  • How do the nominee's achievements reflect positively on the University of Regina? (250 words max.)
  • Include previous awards and honors if applicable

2) Collect 2 – 5 letters of support

  • Letters of support from professional peers and those impacted by the nominee
  • Letters of support from family members will not be accepted

3) Submit the nomination form including a biographical summary by April 30, 2020.

Successful candidates will be contacted by the Alumni Engagement Office for her/her agreement:

  • To accept the award
  • To participate in a customized mentorship program with students and faculty
  • To be present at the awards ceremony in fall of 2020 in Regina to accept the award
  • To participate in promotion activities
