Former Ontario Premier Bob Rae to speak about the treaty relationship between the Crown and First Nations

Media are invited to attend a special lecture hosted by the Faculty of Arts featuring the Honorable Bob Rae, PC, OC, Ont, QC who was Ontario’s Premier from 1990-95 and the Interim Federal Leader and foreign affairs critic for the Liberal Party of Canada from 2011-13.

In his lecture entitled Honouring the Treaties: what does that mean? Rae will examine the nature of the treaty relationship between the Crown and First Nations, and how this relationship can only be described as a ‘trillion dollar misunderstanding’.
