National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

As part of National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, the University of Regina’s Women’s Centre will be hosting a vigil to commemorate and remember the lives of 14 women who were shot and killed at the École Polytechnique Massacre (also known as the Montreal Massacre), which occurred on December 6, 1989, at the École Polytechnique in Montreal, Quebec.

The vigil will take place:

Tuesday, December 6, 2016
12:00 p.m.
Crush Area, Riddell Centre, U of R main campus

In partnership with the YWCA Light the Night Campaign - a cross-country initiative where buildings, bridges and monuments will be lit to draw attention to the need for action on violence against women – the University of Regina will be lighting its main entry sign with red lighting in support of this initiative.

Light the Night will take place:

Tuesday, December 6, 2016
Approximately 5 p.m. (Red lights to turn on as it darkens outside)
U of R main entry (Kramer Blvd. and Wascana Pkwy.)
