We're so glad that you'll be joining us as a graduate student this winter and can't wait to meet you.
Below you'll see the orientation events that have been planned with you in mind, all of which require you to register in advance. New international students are encouraged to attend International Student Orientation on Thursday May 2, 2024, prior to the FGSR faculty session and Understanding Academic Integrity workshop.
FGSR is also holding a workshop about how to work with a supervisor for thesis-based students.

FGSR Workshop: Understanding Academic Integrity
Having an understanding of academic integrity at the start of your academic journey is fundamental to success in your graduate work. This workshop will familiarize you with principles you need to avoid academic misconduct and some of the common mistakes graduate students make.

FGSR Workshop: How to have a great relationship with your supervisor
The main indicator of graduate student success is a positive relationship with their supervisor. We have some great training on how to establish expectations, develop communication systems -- and on the supports available to facilitate this.
