CIHR Canada Graduate Research Scholarship (CGRS-D) - Tri Council
Awards are to provide recognition and funding to students early in their academic research career, providing them with an opportunity to gain research experience; to provide a reliable supply of highly skilled and qualified researchers.
Eligibility
To be considered eligible for support, as of the application deadline date, you must: Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or Protected Person under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada).
If you are not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or protected person under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada), you must be enrolled in your doctoral program of study at an eligible Canadian institution by the application deadline. Up to 15% of awards will be available to international applicants.

Note: You may submit only one application per year to one granting agency (NSERC or CIHR or SSHRC).
You can only apply a maximum of three times to the CGRS-D program.

TRANSCRIPTS: You MUST SUBMIT UP TO DATE, OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS with your application. Order ALL of your undergraduate and graduate transcripts as soon as possible from every university that you have attended, including the University of Regina (even if this is your first semester). You must include all Transfer Credits also. Transcripts must be submitted with your application by the deadline, in order to be considered.
If you have attended universities outside of North America, please formally request your international transcripts TWO weeks in advance by emailing graduate.studies@uregina.ca for the Request for Transcripts other than University of Regina form. You will need to explain why you require this form. Then once filled in please email the request form to graduate.studies@uregina.ca and cc: grad.funding@uregina.ca Late requests (less than 2 weeks notice) cannot be granted.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) will award the top three ranked CIHR Doctoral applications with a $500 FGSR Scholarly Award.
