NSERC Canada Graduate Research Scholarship (CGRS-D) - Tri Council
The Canada Graduate Research Scholarships Doctoral (CGRS-D) provides financial support to high calibre scholars who are engaged in a doctoral program in the natural sciences or engineering. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields.

Eligibility
To be considered eligible for support, as of the application deadline date, you must: Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or Protected Person under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada).
If you are not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or protected person under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada), you must be enrolled in your doctoral program of study at an eligible Canadian institution by the application deadline. Up to 15% of awards will be available to international applicants.

Note: You may submit only one application per year to one granting agency (NSERC or CIHR or SSHRC).
You can only apply a maximum of three times to the CGRS-D program.
Indigenous students are strongly encouraged to self-declare on their application as they can be nominated over and above our quota.

Transcripts:
- Please order ALL of your undergrad and graduate official transcripts today and include your up to date University of Regina transcripts, even if this is your first semester. Your transcripts must show your Fall registration. This includes any Transfer Credit, also. Please order today, as this process takes time. Have all your transcripts sent directly to yourself, as you will have need to upload all of your own OFFICIAL UP TO DATE transcripts to your application.
- If you have International transcripts at this university, please formally request your international transcripts TWO weeks in advance by emailing graduate.studies@uregina.ca for the Request for Transcripts other than University of Regina form. You will need to explain why you require this form. Then once filled in please email the transcript request to graduate.studies@uregina.ca and cc: grad.funding@uregina.ca. Late requests (less than 2 weeks) cannot be granted so please plan ahead.
