Internal Scholarships
The Baruch Sokaribo Memorial Scholarship was established in 2024 to honour the memory of Baruch Sokaribo, an alumnus of the University of Regina. Tragically, Baruch lost his life in a traffic accident in October 2024 when he was on his way to the University of Regina's Fall Convocation to receive the Master of Science degree that he had earned in Mathematics and Statistics. Born and raised in Nigeria, Baruch was mathematician who lived a life full of purpose, had a profound love for learning, and demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence. His passion for mathematics led him to study the discipline at the university level - an academic journey that brought him to the University of Regina for his graduate studies. Baruch wasn't just about academics; he was a humble man of faith, and inspired others through his kindness. Although his life was short, his impact on others was great, and remains in those who knew and remember him. He left a legacy of excellence, faith and a reminder of the transformative poster of education and kindness. His memory will continue to inspire people at the University to strive for knowledge, live with purpose, and uplift those around us.
