Internal Scholarships

The G. Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation Graduate Award in English was established in 2018. The intent is to support three bursaries in the Department of English.

Eligibility

The G. Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation Graduate Award in English will be presented to a University of Regina graduate student who meets the following criteria:
- Registered in the Faculty of Arts Masters of English Program;
- Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 75%;
- Demonstrates financial need; and
- Applicant must provide a written statement, no more than two pages in length, outlining their leadership qualities and strength of character.

Note: A student can only receive ONE of the G. Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation English awards in their academic (undergraduate OR graduate) studies.

Application Information

In addition, students will need to upload the following:

- One page statement demonstrating financial need (Tell us your story as to WHY or the nature of your financial need);

- No more than two pages, a statement outlining your leadership qualities and strength of character; and

- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled ‘Unofficial Transcript' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.

IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.

All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
