Internal Scholarships
Project Resilience honors and supports students and families who are victims of war. As a university, we acknowledge the suffering and hardships faced individuals challenged by global conflict in their homelands. We endeavour to help students affected by war to obtain a university education.
Eligibility
There are four scholarships at $5,000 each, to be presented in any term.
Award will be presented to fully eligible graduate students who are:
- Student is fleeing from an area of global conflict,
- have an incoming GPA of 75%, a lower GPA may be considered on a case by case basis;
- registered and remains registered full time in six credit hours in the semester the award is held;
- enrolled in any graduate degree or graduate certificate program;
- submit an essay of approximately 250 - 400 words on the subject of how the war has inhibited their ability to pay for tuition; and
- students can normally only receive this award once in their masters program or twice in a doctoral program.
Application Information
In addition, students will need to upload the following:
- Submit an essay of approximately 250 - 400 words on the subject of how the war has inhibited their ability to pay for tuition; and
- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled ‘Unofficial Transcript' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.
IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
