The R.A.Kelln – J. Neuhard Graduate Entrance Scholarship in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology was established by Dr. Rod A. Kelln, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry/Biochemistry, and former Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, to assist graduate students entering a graduate program in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology at the University of Regina. For over twenty years, Dr. Kelln and Dr. Jan Neuhard (University of Copenhagen, Denmark) maintained a research collaboration funded through several jointly held NATO International Collaborative Scientific Research Grants and individual grants from NSERC (RAK) and the Danish Science Foundation (JN). Dr. Neuhard was an internationally recognized researcher for his pioneering work in the biochemistry and genetics of pyrimidine metabolism in bacteria.

Eligibility

The scholarship will be presented in the fall to a University of Regina graduate student who meets the following criteria:
- Entering (1st, 2nd or 3rd semester only), or in the first semester of study, of a graduate program in Biochemistry or in a Molecular Biology research theme in the Department of Biology;
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 80% or equivalent; and
- Full-time student registered in the fall semester (fall or winter) the award is presented.

Note: If the award is presented in the fall semester in a given year, then no award will be available for the following winter semester. Only one award will be presented on a yearly basis.

You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
