UR Prior!ty exists to support our incoming first year students! Housing Services along with our Residence Life team, employs a holistic approach in supporting our students. By combining social engagement, personal wellbeing, academic supports and life skill classes, this ensures a positive learning experience for all of our students!

Frequently Asked Questions

Which semesters are Housing Services currently accepting applications for?

Housing Services is offering accommodations for all upcoming semesters;

  • Winter 2022 (January 2022 to April 2022),
  • Spring & Summer 2022 (May 2022 to August 2022)
  • Fall & Winter 2022-2023 (September 2022 to April 2023)

What do I need to do to confirm my accommodations
Once you have your University of Regina Student ID (9 Digit), you must first upload your proof of vaccination on Banner, then complete the housing application process online via the Housing Portal. Once you proof of vaccination has been confirmed, a letter of accommodation will be emailed to you. You will be required to submit your $400 security deposit and a signed copy of your housing contract in order to confirm your booking.
How are rooms assigned?

Students are required to select their top four room type preferences as part of the housing application. Rooms are assigned based on date applied and room type availability.

Can I choose my own roommate(s)?

Yes. You can complete roommate requests as part of your housing application. You can also log in to the housing portal prior to your application being processed to update this section.

Please note: in order to be placed together, your roommate requests will have to accept your invitation. They will receive an email.

Can I request a private room?

Yes. We offer private accommodations, in addition to apartment-style accommodations. Room types include private dorms with private washrooms, private dorms with shared-washrooms (sharing with one other person only) and studios apartments. Our dorm-style accommodations come equipped with a micro-fridge (fridge-microwave combination appliance) Students in dorm-style rooms are required to purchase a dining plan from our designated food service provider and will have access to a wide-variety of on-campus dining options at their fingertips!

Will I have to quarantine when I move in?

The University of Regina requires all student attending or living on campus to provide a declaration of vaccination via the UR Self-Service portal.

All applicants who are not currently living on campus will be required to fill out a questionnaire regarding recent travel and health. In most cases, the applicant will be allowed to move in as usual, providing declaration has been made and accepted.

Who will provide food services?

Currently, Luther Cafeteria is available for all residents and guests to dine.

Will food service providers be operating in Fall 2022?

This decision has not been made at this time. The university will make these decisions where more information is available.  Currently, Luther Cafeteria is available for all residents.
