Get to Know Your Residence Life Team

Looking for ways to get involved? Questions during your stay? A member of your Residence Life team is here to help! Your Residence Life team is a group of peer leaders who work hard to make sure you have the best experience during your stay in residence

Are you interested in joining the team? Available positions for the Housing and Hospitality Services Residence Life Team are posted on the U of R careers page.

Residence Life Coordinators (RLC)

The Housing and Hospitality Services Residence Life Coordinators are professional staff who live in residence and oversee the Resident Assistant team, helping to create a supportive and comfortable community for everyone. They support residence programming, encourage residence policies, and help students thrive.

Resident Assistants (RA)

Each resident is paired with a Residence Assistant (RA) whose priority is to be your number one contact for all-things in residence. As a fellow student living in residence, RAs are your campus-life guide and are available to answer any questions you have about residence. RAs plan fun events, do regular check-ins, and help you navigate university like a pro.

Housing and Hospitality Services residents come from many different social, economic, cultural backgrounds, and countries so living in residence is a great way to meet students from all over the world. It’s not always easy to be in a new face in a new place but taking time to get to know your roommates can offer friendships that last a lifetime. Depending on your room type, you may be located with one or multiple roommates.

Here are some tips to get to know your roommate:

  • Ask about your roommates' living preferences
  • Check out a residence event with your roommate
  • Exchange friendly smiles and greetings
  • Ask for your roommates contact information
  • Have regular check-ins with your roommates
