Am I required to self-isolate upon arrival? |
To be able to enter Canada as a student, you must meet 3 requirements:
1. You must qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller unless you’re a minor student (under the age of 18 years).
2. You must have a valid study permit or a letter of introduction that shows you were approved for a study permit.
3. You must be attending a designated learning institution (DLI).
Even if you qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller, you must have a 14-day quarantine plan in place before arriving in Canada. The border services officer will make the final decision about whether or not you qualify for entry into Canada.

Will the University of Regina accommodate me for my self-isolation? |

Can I live on-campus after my 14 day self-isolation? |
Yes! Students are welcome to stay here for their 14 day self-isolation and continue with a long-term housing contract as well! To apply for student housing, please visit: https://www.uregina.ca/housing/apply/index.html |
Is there a cost for self-isolation? |
In addition to accommodation cost, student are required to purchase a meal plan during their 14 day-self isolation. This includes 19 meals per week. We can accomodate dietary resterctions and allergies. For total accommodation and meal costs, please contact hospitality.services@uregina.ca All requests for self-isolation accommodations and meals must be pre-paid by credit card prior to arrival. The meal plan is mandatory during your self-isolation at the Universtiy of Regina! We can accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. Hospitality Services will arrange meal delivery daily as required. |
What room type will I be in for my self-isolation? | Most students will be placed in a single bed, dorm-style room with a private washroom for their isolation period. |
How do I keep my room clean during self-isolation? | Due to COVID-19 precautionary measures, students will be responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of their room during the isolation period. A cleaning kit will be supplied by Housing. Garbage pickup schedule will be prearranged with Housing Services. |
How do I get to the University of Regina from the airport? | All students must take a taxi from the airport to Kisik Towers at the University of Regina. Airport pick up is not permitted by University staff due to COVID-19 precautions. |
