Biography

Lori Campbell, a proud Two-Spirit member of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation and a representative of Treaty 6 territory, is a distinguished advocate for social justice and equity in the field of education. With a profound commitment to amplifying Indigenous voices, Lori has dedicated her career to fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments.

Currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, Lori's research focuses on Indigenous Women’s Leadership in Higher Education Administration. Through her work, she seeks to elevate critical perspectives and empower Indigenous women's voices in educational leadership, paving the way for transformative change within academic institutions.

With over 17 years of progressive leadership experience in student services, academics, and administration, Lori has established herself as a seasoned leader in education. Her unwavering dedication to creating a more equitable society has garnered her numerous awards and recognitions. In 2021, she was honored with the Women of Inspiration Indigenous Leader Award by the Universal Women’s Network, and in 2023, she received the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for Community Engagement, highlighting her commitment to service. Additionally, Lori was awarded the 2023 National Indspire Award for Leadership in Education, acknowledging her significant impact on Indigenous education.

As a firm believer in the transformative power of storytelling, Lori shares her lived experiences and traditional knowledge, utilizing her expertise to promote Indigenization, decolonization, and reconciliation within organizations and communities. Her impactful journey inspires others to join the mission of advancing social justice, making her a beacon of hope and leadership in education and beyond.
