Dr. Cameron Mang
Cam conducts research focused on developing new approaches to motor skill training and exercise programming. This work is split between: 1) basic science research designed to improve understanding of how the central nervous system controls human movement, and 2) clinical research examining how the neural control of movement is disrupted and rehabilitated for people living with chronic neurological conditions. Cam teaches courses related to human motor control/learning and neurorehabilitation. Cam’s research and teaching is integrated with the ‘Enrich Neurorehab’ program, a community exercise program for people with chronic neurological conditions that is delivered out of the Centre for Health, Wellness and Performance. Cam is fascinated by all things related to human physiology and psychology. His favourite thing about his work is being able to use his training as a researcher and practicing kinesiologist to bridge gaps between science, education, and real-world exercise/rehabilitation interventions.
