Doug is currently an Academic Lead - Centre for Experiential and Service Learning (CESL) where he works with faculty members from across the university to introduce, enhance, or expand community-based engagement opportunities for students. He has a long history with experiential learning having coordinated the Faculty’s Fieldwork program from 1998 – 2012. Doug maintains an active teaching portfolio in KHS where he teaches primarily in the areas of therapeutic recreation and adapted physical activity. Prior to the CESL role, Doug was the Associate Dean (Undergraduate) from 2013 – 2022 and the Faculty Associate - Centre for Teaching and Learning from 2012- 2013. Doug maintained active volunteer commitments while a faculty member in KHS serving on local, provincial, and national boards including the Active Living Alliance for Canadians with a Disability, Coalition for Active Living, Saskatchewan Association of Recreation Professionals, Saskatchewan Highland Dance Association, and the Regina Highland Dance Association. He enjoys cycling and has a collection of different bikes including (road, gravel, mountain, fat tire, and cruiser styles) and also like to snowshoe and cross country ski.
