Jaecy Bells (she/her) is an artist, designer, and performer engaged in creative technologies including graphic design, digital art and popular music. She earned her Bachelor of Arts as one of the first Creative Technologies graduates from the University of Regina in 2018 before spending several years working in advertising as a graphic designer and junior art director, specializing in digital marketing and multimedia campaigns. Her design portfolio spans everything from nonprofit brand identities to website design and TikTok series.

Jaecy is also involved in the local music scene as a performer and educator: she has taught keys and voice in rock music, facilitated workshops on songwriting and improvisation, and has performed as a solo artist with live looping since 2015. She released her debut record in 2018 featuring a mix of jazz, blues, and soul.

As an advocate for building up inclusive music communities in Regina, she sits on the board of GRR! (fka Girls Rock Regina) and was appointed to the international Rock Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee led by the School of Rock franchise in 2021.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in popular music and gender studies at the University of Regina, where she is researching methods of overcoming gender-based discrimination in the music industry. She received the 2023 Academic Excellence Award from Queen City Pride for her work with and for female, trans, Two-Spirit and gender-expansive youth and adults in local music.

Above all, Jaecy values social justice, serif fonts, and podcasts.
