Dr. Michael Reinhart is a theatre/performance creator, performance scholar and theatre instructor. Their work (both creative and academic) is based in exploring interdisciplinary art-making, and collective-driven devised performance creation.
Much of this research has occurred through their work with [elephants] collective (www.elephantscollective.com) and boundary conditions / performance assembly, both of which they are a founding member. Michael maintains a busy creative practice as a creator, director, performer, and dramaturg. Their work has been presented across Canada with SummerWorks, Nuit Blanche (Toronto), Pi Theatre, The Theatre Centre, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, and others
Michael feels very privileged to spend a great deal of their time in classrooms with emerging artists as a theatre instructor. They have previously taught at Brock University, Toronto Metropolitan University and The University of Toronto where they facilitated courses in Devising, Directing, Acting and Performance History.
