Paul J. Hill School of Business named School of the Year at JDC West competition
Paul J. Hill School of Business students had an outstanding showing at the JDC West competition at the University of Alberta and the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (ICBC) case competition at Queen's University this past weekend.
JDC West is the most prestigious undergraduate business competition in Western Canada, hosting 1,300 attendees and uniting more than 650 delegates from 12 premier post-secondary institutions each year. This year, the U of R’s team took home several top prizes, including being named School of the Year and Academic School of the Year. They also took home first place in the Charity Hours category (4,163 total volunteer hours), Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations Management.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, the Hill accounting team placed second at the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition. ICBC is a student-run organization within the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
"Hill students are shining from East to West,” says Dr. Saqib Khan, Interim Dean, Hill and Levene Schools of Business. “The success at JDC West and ICBC is evidence of the high competence of our students, rigor of our programs, and the superior quality of teaching by our faculty members.”
The Paul J. Hill School of Business is holding a celebration event to recognize the outstanding achievements of its students.

About the University of Regina
2024 marks our 50th anniversary as an independent University (although our roots as Regina College date back more than a century!). As we celebrate our past, we work towards a future that is as limitless as the prairie horizon. We support the health and well-being of our 16,700 students and provide them with hands-on learning opportunities to develop career-ready graduates. Our research enterprise has grown to include 21 research centres and 12 Canada Research Chairs and brings in more than $51.2 million in funding annually. Our campuses are on Treaties 4 and 6 - the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda peoples, and the homeland of the Michif/Métis nation. We seek to grow our relationships with Indigenous communities to build a more inclusive future.
Let's go far, together.
