Dr. Luhanga’s program of research has been primarily in the area of field teaching and unsafe student clinical behaviours. Current research relate to recruitment, retention, and success of ethnic minority students’ success in undergraduate professional education programs and Black faculty in academia. Additional research interests include curriculum development, women’s health, and HIV/AIDS.
