Enhance the Well-Being of All
The Faculty of Nursing’s vision is to work together to enhance the well-being of all. We aim to build a nursing community that provides exceptional learning environments, recognizing individual talents and gifts while honoring the interconnectedness of nursing, health, the person, and the environment.
We are committed to improving educational and nursing practices through embedding equity, diversity, inclusivity, anti-racism, reconciliatory, and decolonization practices within our teaching, research, and administrative activities.
The Faculty of Nursing’s land acknowledgment is motivated by genuine respect and support for Indigenous peoples. Speaking and hearing words of recognition is an important step in creating collaborative, accountable, continuous, and respectful relationships with Indigenous peoples nations, and communities. Glen Anaquod Memorial Tipi Raising Competition
2025 Glen Anaquod Memorial Tipi Raising Competition was held on September 26th. The Faculty of Nursing A-Team took home first place in the campus group. Our tipi may have some air conditioning going on, but we made up for it in spirit and communication. We appreciate the organizers and the Anaquod family for sharing this experience with us in the spirit of reconciliation and coming together as treaty people.
Congratulations Team!!

Indigenous Mentorship Program Inspires High School Students to Pursue Nursing
A warm smile, a welcoming presence, and the chance to connect with someone who understands your journey — that’s what the Indigenous Mentorship Program offers high school students in Fort Qu’Appelle. Launched in 2024 as a pilot initiative by the University of Regina’s Faculty of Nursing, the program is already making a meaningful difference.“The idea came out of a conversation between myself and our former dean,” said Selena Talbot, RN, MAEd, and program lead. “I’ve always been passionate about Indigenous student success. We wanted to create something that supports students well before they reach post-secondary.”

Nursing Associate Professor Leads Study on End-of-Life Planning
Are there unmet needs, system gaps, barriers, and vulnerabilities that influence older Canadians' end-of-life care planning and decisions? This sobering question is at the heart of a new four-year, three-province study led by Dr. Janine Brown, Associate Professor in the University of Regina's Faculty of Nursing. With $358,000 in funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), this project explores how shifting social and political realities may be influencing how older adults in Canada approach end-of-life (EOL) care planning.
