Ready to start your journey in nursing? Whether you're coming from high school, have previous post-secondary experience, are a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered psychiatric nurse (RPN) looking to advance your career, or a current health care worker looking to enhance your career with a graduate certificate or degree, there are pathways to explore.
We know that figuring out where and how to apply—especially for collaborative programs—can be confusing, but we're here to help! Review the details carefully, and reach out if you need guidance to ensure you're on the right path.
Undergraduate Programs
Certificate Programs
This program is offered through the Centre for Continuing Education and is designed for students who want to complete the requirements for the After Degree Nursing Program, or for those planning to apply to the four-year nursing program and wish to reduce their first-year course load.
Please note: This program is not offered through the Faculty of Nursing and does not guarantee admission to the nursing program.

Deadlines:
- Domestic Students: Applications are accepted until the start date of each term. Start dates can be found in the academic schedule.
- International Students:
- Fall term – August 15 (subject to change based on application volume)

- Spring/Summer term – April 15 (subject to change based on application volume)

Applying to the After Degree after program completion:
- If you are taking the Readiness Certificate to meet the admission requirements of the After Degree Program, you can apply to the After Degree Nursing Program while completing certificate if you have completed three (3) or more of the admission requirements. Please note that Applicants who have met all admission requirements at the time of application will be given priority.
- Conditional admission may be considered for applicants who have completed a minimum of three (3) or more admission requirement courses by the document deadline of March 15.
- Applicants who are enrolled in a remaining admission requirement course at or beyond the admission deadline may be offered conditional admission provided they are enrolled in the courses for which they have a deficit. Preference will be given to students to have completed all course requirements by the document deadline.
- Applicants who have been admitted conditionally must satisfy all conditions outlined by the program including the completion of all admission requirement courses. An official transcript showing completion of these courses must be submitted to the University of Regina by June 30.
Applying to the SCBScN after program completion:
- The courses in the Readiness Certificate are only admission requirements for the After Degree Program therefore, if you are applying for one of the four-year program options, you can apply at any time you meet the admission requirements. If you are currently upgrading high school courses or enrolled in post-secondary courses after the application deadline, see your pathway’s admission requirements for further information.

This full-time, direct-entry nursing program is for students currently in high school, high school graduates, or those with some post-secondary education who are ready to begin their nursing journey.

Admission Requirements:
- View the admission requirements and deadlines based on your current education level:
- Current High School Students
- High School Graduates, Current Adult 12 Students, Adult 12 Graduates (fewer than 15 post-secondary credit hours)
- Post-Secondary Students (15 or more credit hours)
Students who are fluent in both French and English can complete their nursing degree while strengthening their skills in both official languages through this bilingual option.

After Degree and Pathway Programs
This option is for students who already have a degree in another field and want to pursue a a degree in nursing through an accelerated program.

This pathway is for licensed practical nurses registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan who want to build on their experience and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

This pathway is for registered psychiatric nurses currently licensed in Saskatchewan through the Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Saskatchewan (RPNS) who want to build on their experience and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Location: Regina and Saskatoon
Available Start Term: Fall 2026
The first intake for this pathway will be in the Fall 2026 Term. Application information will be available at a later date.

- Additional Program-Specific Admission Requirements
This thesis-based program offers students the learning and research opportunity to critically examine issues within the area of nursing. The PhD program involves a combination of course work (culminating in a comprehensive exam) and proposing, writing and defending a dissertation. As a special case program, applications require additional documentation. In all such cases, arrangements have to be made prior to approval of an admission.
