Building supportive, nonjudgmental relationships is the foundation of my nursing and teaching philosophy. Building relationships expands my world view and contributes to more effective, people-centered planning. Not every person I teach passes, but every person I teach is treated as an equal and is facilitated to participate fully, and without fear of judgment. I aim for students to be curious and confident to take the risks needed for the real-life application of nursing theory.
