Brian Christie, Associate VP, Resource Planning, returned to Saskatchewan in 2003 (from a senior administrative position at Dalhousie University) to head up the Office of Resource Planning. A graduate of the University of Toronto with degrees in mathematics and physics, and economics, he has been a faculty member at five Canadian universities. Brian is an Associate Member of the Department of Economics and the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, teaching policy analysis, current economic policy issues, and program evaluation.

Brian served as senior policy advisor and coordinator of research at the Saskatchewan Universities Commission during the time of its existence. Brian was the U of R's Representative to First Nations University of Canada under the Advisory Services Agreement, providing mentoring and advice to its management team. He continues to consult and publish on topics such as strategic planning, government-university relations, strategic enrolment management, and university administration.
