Council

According to the Council Rules and Regulations, notices of meetings, agendas and minutes of Council meetings shall be distributed to Council members electronically and made available on the University's website.

The Council Rules and Regulations were approved at Executive of Council on September 25, 2019.

Meeting of Council

The Chair of Council, President Jeff Keshen, has asked that a meeting of Council be scheduled. To avoid disruption to classes and in an effort to obtain quorum, the meeting has been scheduled after the last day of classes and prior to the final exam period to be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Education Auditorium, EA 106, as follows:

9:00 a.m. - Council registration opens
9:30 a.m. - Call to order

Council members who wish items to be placed on the agenda that address either broad policy issues and/or the long term interest of the University, must notify the University Secretary at Glenys.Sylvestre@uregina.ca no later than Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). In accordance with their terms of references, the Council Agenda Committee will review all items submitted and determine which items will be placed on the agenda. Note that, agenda items need not be motions, but can also include information or items for discussion.

The President has asked that Council's review of, and feedback on, the University's draft Academic Plan be included as one of the agenda items.

The agenda will be sent to members at least 5 days prior to the Council meeting.

Meeting Modality, Quorum, and Voting

As per Section 2.2.4 of the Council Rules and Regulations:

Quorum for any meeting of Council shall be set at 100 Council members ... Members of Council must be present, in person, or at a designated off-campus location(s), to vote on any matters being considered by Council at that meeting. Proxy voting is not permitted.

As per the Council Rules and Regulations, the meeting of Council will require in person attendance in:

Council Membership

Membership is defined in Section 76 of The University of Regina Act. The University Secretary maintains a list of members; if you wish to determine whether or not you are a member of Council, refer to this list: List of Council Members

If your name is not on the list and you believe it should be, or if you believe there is an error in the list, please contact the University Secretariat's Office at 306-585-4956 or Sarah.Stewart@uregina.ca by Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Following that date, names will not be added or removed from the list.
